Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Nourishing Lip Balm

Untitled

Today I am going to be talking about this lovely little pot of joy right here. I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted (10 weeks and 3 days but who’s counting?) I’ve just been busy with things. So on to this cream, I say cream but its more of a gel formula. I bought this on a day where my lips were so dry they were sore and hurting. After buying various lip balms that promised my dry lips some moisture I went and googled some suggestions and this came up. Since that day I have not regretted buying this one bit. This literally made my lips go back to not only normal but filled with moisture and made them soft. I even got a comment on it from my cousin asking why my lips were soft ;). This is £20 from Boots, yes it is expensive for a lip balm but honestly it literally lasts forever I bought it months back and I still barely have gone through it. I use it every night before bed so that my lips are moisturised for my lipstick in the morning :P.

Anyway hope you enjoyed this quick post and I have helped you with your lip worries!

Concealer Suggestions?

Hey guys,

I bet you’ve all been wondering where I’ve been 😛 hmm? I guess not haha. I’ve just been busy with life I guess, I’ve started a part-time course at University and then just been going out and about. Now enough of that I have come back not with a review or a haul but a question for you instead. I assume you have guessed by the title of this post what my question is but I’m going to ask you anyway 😛 What concealers do you lot use for your under eye circles that’s if you have any and if you don’t then you are one of those rare humans that have been blessed with very good genes that I envy! I use a collection concealer at the moment but I want to branch out of that and I have not got very dark eye circles but they are visible and they are brown so I welcome any suggestions of concealers that you lot have. I hear salmon/orange/peach tone concealers are good for brown circles but there are so many out there I just don’t know where to start!

So you beauty lot pop your suggestions in the comments as they are very much appreciated!

Stila Blush Dupe Alert!

wpid-20150110_155206.jpg               wpid-20150110_155816.jpg

Yes you heard right! It’s a dupe post today! I got the Stila Custom Color Blush in Coral a while back for £13 from Boots. What I like about this blush is that it adjusts to your skin tone so it would look different on fair skin to someone with tan skin etc..Al little goes a long way with this blush so it will last you a very long time. Now you must be wondering what dupe I am talking about for this wonderful blush, well wonder no further the dupe for the Stila blush is the Rimmel Stay Blushed in Sunkissed Cherry. This Rimmel blush is a cream blush so it’s good for those with dry skin as well it’s not powder you’re putting on your face ;). I like this blush and I often ask myself why I don’t use it as much as I should! I only realised that this is the dupe for the Stila blush after I bought it on a whim!.

Stila Custom Color Blush- Coral

Here’s what the Stila Blush looks like up close. It has a bit of glitter in it but it’s not that obvious when on your cheeks so don’t you worry you matte blush lovers out there! I think everyone should own one of these because it’s such a lovely blush and it just looks beautiful on everyone. The price for this compared to other high street brands is cheaper at £13 so why not give yourself a treat and splurge out ;).

As you can see the Rimmel one is different in texture from the Stila blush. Rimmel have used a cream blush and it’s quite easy to apply, all you have to do is just squeeze a pea sized amount on your fingers and just use your fingers to put some onto the apples of your cheeks and blend it going upwards to your hairline. For those people that don’t like getting their fingers dirty you could always use a blush and even out the blending :). This is a great blush and I recommend for people to buy it as it is less than half the price of the Stila one at £4.49! In the last picture you can see how it looks when blended, it gives a nice pop of colour to the cheeks and isn’t over the top.

That’s my dupe for today, I hope you enjoyed reading it and let me know in the comments below if you own any of the blushes and how you like them! 🙂

Lip Saver

I bought this the other day because my lips were in need of some balm because they were getting so dry! I normally use my Palmers Cocoa butter but that has ‘disappeared’ somewhere and I had no luck finding it so my friend suggested this and boy am I glad she did! I’ve already got this in the tube version but I prefer this over that one any day! That one is more of a gloss version and this one is a balm. I apply this every night and and my lips have gone soft! I’ve only been wearing this for a few days as well!

So for all you people out there that are suffering from dry winter lips and are on the hunt for something that’s cheap and does the job then look no further! I think this was £1.29 or something along those lines, it was definitely below £2 though! Totally worth it 🙂

My Make Up Routine

So after reading through many blogs and looking at their make up routines I’ve realised I have not actually talked about mine on this blog. I love watching videos on YouTube about how people apply their make up and what products they use and in this blog post I’ll tell you what I use on my face. My skin is dry so the some of the products I use are best suited for my skin but most products are suitable for all skin types :).

wpid-img_20150103_144405.jpg

1. Garnier Moisture Match- First I moisturise my face with the Garnier moisturiser, I use the one for dry to very dry skin. It’s a really good moisturiser but it takes some time to set into the face so you have to rub it in for a minute. I use this after cleansing my face at night too because my face becomes dry and this just smooths my skin right up :).

2. Garnier 5 Second Perfect Blur Primer-  After moisturising my face I use my primer to prime my face. This primer is really good and gives of a matte finish. It reduces the look of fine lines along with pores. It gives the skin a smooth finish as well and some say that it is a good dupe for Benefits Porefessional!

3. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer- I love this concealer, it is a really good one that covers any blemishes or dark circles. The greatest thing about this concealer is the price! It’s only £4,19 much much cheaper than any other concealers out there and also affordable too! I favour this one over my mac concealer any day and that’s saying something!

4. Mac Mineralize Moisture SPF15 Foundation/ Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation SPF10- I’m testing out the Mac foundation as I just bought it recently, it’s supposed to be good for dry skin as it provides a moisture finish. I wore it today and at first I didn’t like the finish it gave me, I’m still on the fence about it but it turned out decent in the end. Meh I have a feeling that I’ll end up loving it later on it’s just about getting used to it. The Estee Lauder foundation I really love. It’s a nice medium coverage that easily buildable as with the mac that’s light to medium. The Estee Lauder one is the one I would choose to wear on a night out. If any of you have either foundation comment down and let me know what you think of them. To apply my foundation I use the Real Techniques foundation brush or expert face brush it depends on which one is at hand. I love Real Techniques brushes they are really good quality and now I am drooling over their Bold Metal Collection but I cannot justify the prices :(.

5. Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Blush Palette- I picked this little pot of roses up from Boots one day on a whim. I’ve been wanting to buy the Hoola bronzer for a while and the sales lady recommended me to buy the whole palette because it’d be worth my money as I was going to be spending £23 on the Hoola bronzer alone when I could just spend a few pounds more and get more for my money and hey ho I caved. I’m only human after all! :P. I used my Zoeva brush to brush Hoola onto cheekbones and then used Sugar Bomb on the apple of my cheeks and I must say that it actually looked nice and blended in well. This was all thanks to the Zoeva brush! I’ve tried to get a good brush to use the bronzer with and had no luck until I decided to go online and find a dupe for the Mac brush and came across Zoeva. I am so glad I bought it as it works very well and it seems like it’s going to last!

So here it is these are some of the things that I use on my face when I go out or am just feeling bored and so decide to do my make up. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you want some reviews or what’s in my bag blog posts just let me know in the comments below and I’ll see what I can do.

Thanks for reading as always and have a good day/night 🙂

My Wish List

Hi guys! Hope all is well. Today I am going to be sharing with you my little wish list of products I would love to have! So have fun and let me know if there’s anything on here that you have or would like to have and if you have it, is it any good? :).

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit- £39

Contour-Kit

First of this this contour kit. I’ve recently started getting interested in contouring and am currently on the search for a good contour kit and the reviews on this were all great! I just can’t bring myself to buy it with it’s hefty price tag £39 from beautybay for those that are wondering! I just know I won’t use it as much and it would just be sitting in my wardrobe coming out once in a blue moon *sigh*.

Ben Nye Banana Powder

How to Use Ben Nye Banana Powder

Now this has been one of the most raved about products in the beauty world. This is great for setting concealer, for highlighting and contouring and to also just use as a finishing powder to set your make up. I would love to buy this and am contemplating on purchasing it too but it is hard to find it in the UK and it would cost a lot for it to be shipped over from elsewhere too! If you have it let me know if it’s any good and if it is worth the price!

NARS ITA Kabuki Brush- £43

0607845018582So after googling and youtubing brushes for contouring this one stood out the most for me. It looks like such a good brush that would help you nail that contour and make sure it looks flawless. Sadly this is way expensive for me and I would not shell out £43 for a make up brush! Yes that’s right £43! So I ordered a dupe for it from Zoeva which only cost me £11.50 I’ll write a review on that soon once I have got it!

Urban Decay Electric Palette- £38

After owning the Naked palette I’ve decided I want to add some colour to my eyeshadow collection and what better way to add colour other than the electric palette? I mean look at it! It looks electrifying, and the colours look beautiful and with Urban Decay you know that you’re going to get good pigmented colours and good quality so I wouldn’t mind shelling out £38 but only when it’s my birthday! So will have to wait a month for it and drop hints to the sister or cousins haha!

MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick- £15.50

This is one lip colour that I have seen everywhere. I love lipsticks and I am asking myself as I type right this minute why I have not ordered this lipstick? I like my coloured lipsticks so I might just hint this out to for my birthday :P. It’s such a beautiful colour on any skin tone and would suit anyone who wears it I’m sure!

This is my wishlist what’s yours? Anything you’ve seen on here that you like or own? If so let me know in the comments below!
