My Skincare Routine

Hey guys, it’s been a while since I posted so I thought I’d do a skincare post about what I use to help my skin stay clean and healthy. I naturally don’t have any problems with my skin *touch wood* 😛 but I’ve started to get into taking care of my skin a bit more, I now make an effort to at least exfoliate once a week as I don’t want to overdo it because I’ve got dry skin. So these are the products I use every other day to keep my skin clean, I usually use the same products day and night but I’ll just go through with you what I use and how I use it.

After wearing make up all day I use these products to take it off and to keep my skin healthy:

  1.  Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish- I use a couple of pumps of this and massage it into my skin then with the muslin cloth that comes with this I gently exfoliate my skin and take the make-up of with it. This is really good for cleansing your face as it not only takes the make-up of completely but also all the other oils and dirt that is on your skin. This is on for £15.50 at the Liz Earle website I’d recommend this to everyone and I’ve already repurchased this and am waiting for the order to get here as my other one is on its last legs. This product lasts a long time and most of the time when you order anything of the website they give you a sample size of the this free.
  2. Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter- I got this when my I realised that my Liz Earle cleanser was running out, I thought of trying something new and saw good reviews of this on many sites and ended up purchasing it. It is a good cleanser and takes of all the make-up. On the packaging it instructs you to massage it into your skin and then wash it off with water, I don’t do that I use my muslin cloth and take it off as the butter melts right away onto the skin and it would be just horrible washing it off with water. This is for £12.00 at the BodyShop and if anyone’s looking for a new cleanser then try this out it is a decent one and does the job and it isn’t that expensive compared to other ones out there.
  3. Avene Gentle Purifying Scrub- I picked this up ages ago when I was in Boots, my skin is quite sensitive and goes red quite easily and this exfoliator is designed for sensitive skin and so I bought it. I didn’t use it as much as I should and have just started to exfoliate more and I feel like this is a good one as the beads in there are not that harsh to the skin as some other exfoliators out there. It leaves my skin smooth and gets rid of all the dead skin and dry patches that I have. All you have to do is wet your face and then gently scrub this onto your face for a few minutes and wash it off. This can be purchased from Boots for £9.50.
  4. Simple Kind To Skin Smoothing Facial Toner- I’ve always used this toner since I’ve started wearing make-up, what I like about Simple is that their ingredients are often simple and are kind to the skin just like it says. I use this after exfoliating my face or after cleansing my face on days I don’t exfoliate. I like using this to just make sure that my face is clean and that it doesn’t have any make-up left on it. This can be purchased from Boots for £3.29 but in other places like Bodycare their often cheaper.
  5. Avene Eau Thermale Spring Water Spray- After using the toner I spray this onto my face just to refresh my skin and I just like the feeling of it really 😛 but it does say that you can use this to set make-up or just in summer when you’re really warm. This is from Boots and is £3.50 for the 50ml.
  6. Garnier Moisture Match for Dry to very Dry Skin- Since I’ve got dry skin I use this and it is really good and moisturises my face well. The only thing I will say is that since it is a thick consistency you have to really massage it into the skin in order for it to be fully absorbed. I would recommend this moisturiser to anyone with dry skin and for those of you who have oily or combination skin or some other skin type they have moisturisers to suit you too! So do check them out they are at Boots for £3.99.
  7. Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream- I just started using this recently when I purchased the cleansing butter, I wanted something for my dark circles and the shop assistant advised me to get this. I can’t really say that it’s made any difference to the dark circles but I feel like it has done something or the other I just don’t know what. I apply this every morning and every night I just use a pea sized amount and dab around my eyes. This can be purchased from Bodyshop for £11.
  8. Carex Hand Gel- I’ve been buying hand sanitisers on and off these past couple of years but I have yet to get through one completely, normally I either lose them or just give them to friends who often use them more than I do :P. I have this by my window sill and use it every time before I apply my lip balm on as I don’t want to get any bacteria in my tub of lip balm. This was bought from Bodycare for a £1.
  9. Lush Lip Scrub in Bubblegum- I bought this lip scrub just on a whim, I heard a lot of good things about it and my lips were getting dry a lot due to the winter weather and so I found myself ordering this as I just wanted a lip scrub to exfoliate my lips and it works too so that’s a good thing. I got this for £5.50 and I just take a bit out on my finger and scrub my lips with it and the dry parts rub out, I then wash my lips with cold water and then apply the lip balm.
  10. Carmex Lip Pot in Cherry- Before buying this I had the gloss version of it and although it was great I just didn’t like applying it before going to sleep as it would just be getting onto the pillow and such so I went and bought this and I am SO glad I bought it because it is a lip saver! It really helped my dry lips and moisturised them and kept them hydrated, I now wear this at night just when I get into bed as my lips the next morning feel so soft!. I got this from Bodycare for £1.49 but you can also buy it from Boots for £2.69.

Phew this turned out to be quite a long post I hope it made up for not posting for a couple of days. Hope you enjoyed the post and remember if you want to ask me any questions privately then click here I would love to answer them so don’t hesitate!

My Make Up Routine

So after reading through many blogs and looking at their make up routines I’ve realised I have not actually talked about mine on this blog. I love watching videos on YouTube about how people apply their make up and what products they use and in this blog post I’ll tell you what I use on my face. My skin is dry so the some of the products I use are best suited for my skin but most products are suitable for all skin types :).

1. Garnier Moisture Match- First I moisturise my face with the Garnier moisturiser, I use the one for dry to very dry skin. It’s a really good moisturiser but it takes some time to set into the face so you have to rub it in for a minute. I use this after cleansing my face at night too because my face becomes dry and this just smooths my skin right up :).

2. Garnier 5 Second Perfect Blur Primer-  After moisturising my face I use my primer to prime my face. This primer is really good and gives of a matte finish. It reduces the look of fine lines along with pores. It gives the skin a smooth finish as well and some say that it is a good dupe for Benefits Porefessional!

3. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer- I love this concealer, it is a really good one that covers any blemishes or dark circles. The greatest thing about this concealer is the price! It’s only £4,19 much much cheaper than any other concealers out there and also affordable too! I favour this one over my mac concealer any day and that’s saying something!

4. Mac Mineralize Moisture SPF15 Foundation/ Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation SPF10- I’m testing out the Mac foundation as I just bought it recently, it’s supposed to be good for dry skin as it provides a moisture finish. I wore it today and at first I didn’t like the finish it gave me, I’m still on the fence about it but it turned out decent in the end. Meh I have a feeling that I’ll end up loving it later on it’s just about getting used to it. The Estee Lauder foundation I really love. It’s a nice medium coverage that easily buildable as with the mac that’s light to medium. The Estee Lauder one is the one I would choose to wear on a night out. If any of you have either foundation comment down and let me know what you think of them. To apply my foundation I use the Real Techniques foundation brush or expert face brush it depends on which one is at hand. I love Real Techniques brushes they are really good quality and now I am drooling over their Bold Metal Collection but I cannot justify the prices :(.

5. Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Blush Palette- I picked this little pot of roses up from Boots one day on a whim. I’ve been wanting to buy the Hoola bronzer for a while and the sales lady recommended me to buy the whole palette because it’d be worth my money as I was going to be spending £23 on the Hoola bronzer alone when I could just spend a few pounds more and get more for my money and hey ho I caved. I’m only human after all! :P. I used my Zoeva brush to brush Hoola onto cheekbones and then used Sugar Bomb on the apple of my cheeks and I must say that it actually looked nice and blended in well. This was all thanks to the Zoeva brush! I’ve tried to get a good brush to use the bronzer with and had no luck until I decided to go online and find a dupe for the Mac brush and came across Zoeva. I am so glad I bought it as it works very well and it seems like it’s going to last!

So here it is these are some of the things that I use on my face when I go out or am just feeling bored and so decide to do my make up. I hope you enjoyed reading this and if you want some reviews or what’s in my bag blog posts just let me know in the comments below and I’ll see what I can do.

Thanks for reading as always and have a good day/night 🙂
